Why this exists
CBAM is a moving target. The regime only entered its definitive period on 1 January 2026, and there is already the 2025 Omnibus simplification, new default values, a certificate price that updates each quarter, and proposals to extend scope to downstream products. You can't read one article and be done. So instead of asking you to watch the EU Official Journal, we do it, and we send you the short version.
How often you'll hear from us
Monthly, plus breaking-change alerts. The monthly issue rounds up what moved. The alerts go out the moment something material lands, so a new default-values release, a price-method change or a scope proposal reaches you in days, not after your next audit.
What's in each issue
- What changed, written so you don't need a law degree to follow it.
- What it means for you, separated by role and whether you import or supply CBAM goods.
- What to do next, in concrete steps.
- A link to the official source, every time, so you can check our work.
Who reads The CBAM Brief
- Trade and customs compliance managers who got asked to become a "CBAM declarant" and need to stay current.
- Sustainability and ESG managers who own embedded-emissions data and supplier engagement.
- Finance and procurement teams forecasting certificate cost as the CBAM factor ramps to 2034.
- Non-EU manufacturers and exporters whose EU buyers now demand installation-level emissions data.
- Customs brokers, advisers and association staff who need to stay authoritative for their clients.
The fine print, kept honest
We have no software to sell and no demo to book, so the newsletter exists to inform you, not to soften you up for a pitch. We won't sell or share your email. Unsubscribe in one click, any time. See how we handle your data on our privacy page.
